FAQs
What does all wood cabinetry mean?
All Harbour series boxes are constructed of birch plywood and frames of solid birch. All wood tone cabinet doors are constructed of solid birch. Painted cabinet doors including Pasadena Linen Glazed, Desoto and Bellair are constructed of MDF. MDF is the preferred choice for painted door finishes as the paint will not crack at the construction joints as will a solid wood door.
How do I care for my cabinetry?
After installation is complete, wipe down your cabinetry with a soft, clean cloth dampened with water. Dry immediately with another clean, soft cloth.
Regular cleaning requires only wiping with a dampened clean, soft cloth and then drying. Remove all oil, grease, or general soil by using a clean, soft cloth damped with a fresh solution of mild soap (i.e. Spic & Span or Ivory) and water. Rinse with a clean cloth dampened with clean water and then dry thoroughly. (It is not recommended to use paper towels to do this as they can be abrasive.)
Avoid using harsh detergents, strong soaps, abrasive cleaners, self polishing waxes or waxes that contain silicone when cleaning; avoid using ammonia solutions on or near cabinets. Lastly, do not use your dishcloth to clean or dry cabinets as it may contain remnants of detergent or grease.
As with all wood products, excess moisture is one of the worst enemies of any finish. Sink, range, dishwasher oven and baseboard areas are the most susceptible to this. Promptly remove water spills and excess moisture from cabinets, using a clean soft cloth.
